Do Christians hate the LGBTQ community?

Westboro Baptists, all 70 of them, and their “GodHatesFags.com” website is a clear sign that Christians hate the LGBTQ community, Right???

Wrong!!!

The media is stirring the pot.  The “people” are buying it.  Lines have been drawn and the divide is getting wider and wider every single day.  What the hell is going on???

I love people.  I’ve never met you, you who is reading this, but I love you.  The reason that I love you is two fold.  First, I was given a chance to have my life radically changed for the better and I took it.  Second, ever since then, even though life is still “hard”, I have a plan and a purpose that gives me hope and guides me towards loving others and sharing with them the truth.

Jesus gave Christians two commands.  Love the Lord your God and love others as yourself. – Mark 12  Simple, direct and to the point.  If a Christian is spending time hating someone else, they are doing was is contrary to the bible.  The bible tells Christians, “Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.” – I John 3:15  The bible also says,…love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you… – Matthew 5:44

So, now you know what a Christian should be doing.  Are Christians hypocrites for not following what the bible says?  Maybe.  The better question is, are all “Christians” actually Christians?  Ultimately, the bible is clear that Christians are to love everyone and not hate.

There’s your answer.  Not much to it.  But why so much tension between Christianity and the LGBTQ community?  Ultimately it’s a sin issue, but I will address this in a future writing – from a completely different perspective.
